Presentation of new nucleating agent for PET at SpecPlast |

At the SpecPlast 2009 (September 21-22) conference held in Zürich, Switzerland and organized by Maack, ADEKA-PALMAROLE gave a presentation entitled ‘Improved PET Performance via Advanced Nucleation Technology’
The presentation was given on the first day of the conference and was used to highlight results with a new nucleating agent for PET, T-1465N. This new nucleating agent for PET has been developed by ADEKA in Japan and this was the first time these data have been shared with a wider audience.
The presentation focused around 2 applications where the outstanding properties of T-1465N were illustrated, namely glass filled PET for injection moulding and PET bottles. The data presented showed the benefits and features of T-1465N clearly as:
• Excellent toxicity profile
• Effective at low concentrations
• High thermal stability
• Gives outstanding gloss performance with and without glass fibres !
• Can increase productivity (> 2x number of bottle preform/hr)
The application in PET bottles demonstrated that T-1465N has the potential to reduce cycle times of performs without affecting clarity. And all this can be achieved at the impressive loading level of just 200ppm T-1465N.

It was important that companies manufacturing and/or importing chemicals into the EU got them pre-registered before the closing date of the first stage of this new legislation which was at the end of November.
ADEKA PALMAROLE has successfully achieved this and is compliant with REACH. This has the positive consequence
for our customers that there will be no break in the supply of our products.
With the exception of certain PVC stabilisers which were, anyway, already being superseded by safer alternatives, we are delighted to be able to say that none of our other products will have to be withdrawn due to this new law.
Yes, it is business as usual.
And now, of course, we are planning for the much bigger task of achieving full registration for all our products, a process that is going to involve all our customers who we hope will exchange information with us about uses and hanlding of our products so that, together, we can bring to fruition the real reason for the existence of this new legislation which is the full understanding, safe handling and disposal of every chemical in use today.

Palmarole Compounds merged with ADEKA PALMAROLE SAS |

As of July 1st our daughter company, PALMAROLE COMPOUNDS, has been merged with ADEKA PALMAROLE SAS.
PALMAROLE COMPOUNDS originally compounded only engineering thermoplastics and whilst this activity, which includes toll manufacture of engineering polymer compounds, remains active the focus of the business over recent years has been placed on production of additives preparations, particularly masterbatches and granulated additives formulations.
The plant is located at Rousset in the south of France, close to Marseille and Aix en Provence.
Several new lines now complement the existing capacity at this site, and these new lines will be operational by the end of 2008, in time to cope with the increasing demand for specialty additives preparations.

ADEKA PALMAROLE is continuing its expansion and increased market presence with a stronger focus on plastic processors.
In support of this ADEKA PALMAROLE is pleased to announce that it has employed a new Sales Manager for Austria and Eastern Europe (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria). Mr. Martin Bermann will help us to extend our activities in these growing markets.
In a first step PVC processing companies (finished-, semi finished goods and compounding) and packaging producing companies will be approached with ADEKA PALMAROLE’s dedicated range of weight reduction solutions, lead free stabilisers and phthalate free plasticisers.
ADEKA PALMAROLE is also offering a broad range of products from plastic additives, stabilizers and plasticizers and is furthermore providing expertise in different areas of polymer protection.
In addition to its knowledge of plastic additives ADEKA PALMAROLE is also well known for its flexibility and support to its customers to ensure successful implementation of added value solutions.

 It’s hard to believe that 3 years have passed since the last exhibition in Düsseldorf but we are pleased to announce that ADEKA-PALMAROLE will be there again at the K’07.
Recognised as the world’s premier exhibition for all those concerned in the plastics industry, the K’07 in Düsseldorf promises to be another record breaking affair with numbers of exhibitors and visitors expected to exceed those of last time.
